Project Engineers work in developing and executing projects in the most effective manner possible utilizing the standards set by the plant. These projects are typically interdisciplinary in scope and involve evaluating economic considerations and project organization. Experience with the operation and maintenance of processing units in the refinery is mandatory. These include rotating equipment, compressors, pumps, seals, turbines and reciprocating machines. Project Engineers must be able to work with contractors and internal personnel, evaluating their maintenance and repair efforts. Computer experience is almost always required (Word, Excel, and MS Project, and in some occasions, AutoCad).
