Pipeline Mappers are responsible for the topographical pipeline mapping and as it applies to maintenance and expansion projects. They coordinate the layout of the pipeline and should therefore have experience with alignment sheets, topographical maps, databases, and drawing and engineering design programs. Pipeline Mappers should have an up-to-date knowledge of survey techniques, imagery specifications, software applications utilized in processing alignments, profile drawings, coordinate systems, data referencing, and mapping standards including fabrication and detail design specifications.
Because Pipeline Mappers are directly involved in many projects, both maintenance and expansion, they should have working experience in project management and budgeting. This includes drawing and data deliverables for FERC 7c filings, applications packages, bid packages, and final as-built documents.
Pipeline Mappers should have extensive software experience in AutoCAD and AutoCAD LDD. Experience in BlueSky, SheetGen, and/or ArcView is considered a plus.
