Landman Job Requirements

To get a job as a landman you will need to earn a post-high school degree. According to the National Energy Education Department (NEED), landmen must become well-versed in a location’s property laws and regulations, environmental regulations, and the company’s extraction technologies and methods.

The landman needs to understand what the company requires as far as a place to drill, a pad for trucks and mounting the well, and other requirements. The landman also needs to make sure that the company complies with all title laws and environmental regulations.
