Oil and gas operations can be dangerous places to work, and safety protocol must be followed. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) claims analysts are involved in reporting, managing, coordinating, and disposing of injury claims. These professionals recruit, develop, coach and lead site-based HSE programs, foster a strong HSE culture and stimulate line ownership of HSE within Drilling and Completions to ensure that HSE risks are identified and controlled according to company and Petroleum HSE standards, policies and practices.

An HSE Claims Analyst in the oil and gas industry is responsible for developing an overall safety plan for his organization. Analysts routinely support and manage all internal claims that arise during the course and scope of business activities, and commonly work with all departments (Human Resources, HSE Management, Operations, etc.) and insurance carriers with the ultimate goal of managing and mitigating claim situations as they arise.

The HSE Claims Analyst may provide emergency management, planning, and support. They are typically responsible for designing and implementing emergency plans and exercising these plans to ensure compliance. HSE claims analysts are often asked to mentor other technical and emergency response and management personnel, and strong leadership qualities are critical, especially during times of emergency.
