According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average hourly wage for machinists in the United States is approximately $19.00 per hour. Of course, as with most positions, salaries can vary widely. Apprenticeships can start at $15.00 per hour, and machinists with many years of seniority or those that are foremen can earn more than $30.00 per hour. In addition, most employees receive very good benefits such as health insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and dental and vision insurance.
