The World Oil Outlook
Studies proliferate on just how much offshore oil and gas production will increase worldwide. The consensus is that it will continue to grow, and primarily in deepwater.
One leading energy analysis firm, Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) of Massachusetts, forecast “continuing rapid expansion of ultra deepwater production” worldwide. CERA also predicts that the ultra-deepwater growth to focus in the “big four” deepwater areas: the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Angola, and Nigeria.

Deepwater offshore production is likely to increase dramatically worldwide in coming years – in some places more than others.
